Job Satisfaction

Well, sort of. Now that everything is submitted, school is really out for me over the summer as far as having to actually sit in a class where I’m a student. I got my grades too. Straight A’s! I don’t think they’ve invented a happy dance for what I’m feeling!

I’m in an alumni show too that opened this past weekend. I took Mya with me. She was pretty good for the first hour or so. She ate a little, she charmed a few folks…other times she was sing-songy, but with all of the noise, it mattered not. But around the second hour we were there….um…she got pretty interesting. As I was holding her and talking to the new registrar, she reached out and touched someone. Someone I didn’t know, of course. The young lady giggled though and it was all good. But when I put her down and she ran across the floor and smacked a girl I didn’t know on the booty, I felt it was time to go! But it was a good experience all in all. I even met a curator who was super curious about my work. I was so excited that someone was interested in hearing about my work, I was on a high all night!

Anyway, with the exception of teaching this summer, I get to paint my little heart out!! This is really the reason I went back to school in the first place. I’m so excited that I can barely contain myself!! I dream of the stuff I’m going to do when I get to the studio…

Now that’s the way a job should be!

  1. That’s the true joy of teaching. 🙂 Summer’s off. 🙂

    • Yes!! I did have to teach a little. But it was only five weeks. Now I’m painting everyday! It’s so nice to paint outside in the summer…mmmm…
